Deus Ex: Mankind Divided confirmed for PC, PS4, and Xbox One

The next Deus Ex game is called Mankind Divided, and it's headed to PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Game Informer has confirmed that Mankind Divided will appear on the cover of its May issue, and Russian gaming site Kanobu posted several screens for the game, which follows directly from 2011's Deus Ex: Human Revolution.

Mankind Divided focuses on the growing tension between non-augmented people and 'transhumans', following Human Revolution protagonist Adam Jensen as he joins an international police task force dedicated to hunting down augmented terrorists. Jensen will be able to choose his own path to deal with the terrorist threats, though significantly improved enemy AI will introduce new wrinkles both for stealthy players and those who prefer a good shootout.
Mankind Divided will explore the consequences of Human Revolution's ending, in which all transhumans around the world were sent into a rampage by the Illuminati. According to Kanobu, Mankind Divided won't allow for importing saves from Human Revolution, meaning that the former will have to do a little canon housekeeping. It's not the first time - Deus Ex 2: Invisible War followed from an all-in-one interpretation of the original Deus Ex's three-way ending
Mankind Divided is presumably the subject of the ongoing 'Can't Kill Progress' stream, which Square Enix confirmed would reveal a new game from one of its Western studios. The stream is set to conclude on Wednesday, and it looks like it's going to soldier on until then, even if its grand debut has already been spoiled. There is still one little snippet it could reveal which neither Kanobu nor Game Informer were privy to, though - a release date.
